2024: A year full of growth and good news for Plain Concepts

The year 2024 is about to end and we will remember it as a turning point for the company, full of challenges, projects, awards, new markets and lines of business, and an innovative, leading, diverse, and inclusive team that continues to grow.

Although it has only been twelve months, it has been a year that has given us a lot to look back on and review some of the most important moments.

Azure Migration Partner of the Year Winners

As every year, Microsoft has chosen its best partners, and Plain Concepts has been the winner in the Azure Migration category and a finalist for Best Data and Analytics Partner of the Year.

The award was a great recognition for a year in which we have focused on improving the services offered to our customers, modernizing their infrastructure, and providing them with the most advanced technologies in the market.

We are already over 500!

Our goal to grow into a much larger company has only just begun, and we closed the year with the great news that we have surpassed 500 employees.

At the beginning of the year, we set out to continue attracting the best talent and retaining those who make the company better every day, and we are gradually achieving our goals.

This is just the beginning of what will be a long road ahead, in which we will continue to strive to deliver even higher quality and triple our number of employees over the next five years.

Technology Consulting Award for Responsible AI Solutions

We received the award for “Best Technology Consultancy in Responsible AI Solutions” during the VIII Technology and Innovation Awards 2024 Gala, organized by the newspaper La Razón.

This award represents a recognition of the great effort made by the Plain Concepts team to offer solutions that embrace the latest advances in AI but with a focus on being responsible and improving people’s lives. In fact, it shows that the direction we have taken in the implementation of responsible AI is the right one, and we will continue to innovate and adapt to new changes and the needs of the industry to continue on the path towards efficiency and accountability.

Smashing success at our Singularity Tech Day and dotNET 2024 events

The fifth edition of Singularity Tech Day brought together more than 200 representatives of the business sector in a meeting, held in Barcelona, to learn more about AI as a tool to generate value, from top-level firms such as Microsoft, Telefónica, Google, Intel, AstraZeneca, Nestlé, Repsol, Mitiga, BCN Supercomputing Center or Grup Mediapro.

After the success of this fifth edition, we are already looking forward to the next one, in which we will be delighted to have again the attendees of this edition and the new ones who want to join this incredible experience.

For its part, the seventh edition of dotNET 2024, closed as a wonderful day with a record number of attendees, all rooms packed, and talks that have left no one indifferent. Here is a summary of the day:

Reaching the Middle East market

As part of our strategy to grow in new markets, 2024 has been the starting point to create new partnerships in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East market. Through events, meetings, and contacts with potential partners, we have landed in such a promising market.

This country offers incredible possibilities to demonstrate the potential of Plain Concepts in developments of all kinds, especially in AI and Data solutions, thanks to the large investment that companies and the government are making to drive digital transformation and thus become one of the world’s leading powers in the technology sector.

New Evergine Release

Our Research team continues to work tirelessly to experiment with the latest technologies, making unique breakthroughs and 2024 has been a great time to step forward with Evergine, our graphics engine, designed to power our internal products as well as to offer a super powerful tool to other developers who want to get into this exciting world.

As usual, there have been two major releases this year. The latest version comes packed with many new features, such as resource generation using generative AI, full migration to .NET 8.0, Nested Prefabs in MRTK and XRV, support for motion vectors in rendering, improved documentation, and more.

Featured Partner of the Responsible AI Innovation Center

To accelerate the adoption and deployment of responsible and secure AI and Generative AI projects in enterprises and public organizations, Microsoft has created the Responsible AI Innovation Center (RAIIC) in Spain.

Plain Concepts has been chosen as one of its strategic partners, with whose collaboration it is seeking to identify AI innovation opportunities at scale, while promoting use cases in key sectors in all market segments, facilitating the transformation of companies, as well as improving their efficiency and helping them to get the maximum return on their investments. Always on responsible AI projects.

Supporting social initiatives that matter

Using our voice and our resources to help social causes of all kinds is one of Plain Concepts’ values and this year we wanted to do our bit for as many as we could.

From supporting races to raise funds for research into diseases such as cancer, to collecting donations to support those affected by the DANA in Valencia, supporting employees’ personal projects, promoting environmental initiatives, sponsoring training scholarships, etc., Plain Concepts has been involved in all of them…

Plain Camp

As has become a tradition, we gathered once again this year at the Plain Camp, the annual meeting for the entire company and one of the favorite moments for the whole team.

It was three days of reunions, team-building activities, and the perfect opportunity to share good times with colleagues we don’t see in person that often.

About 300 plainers from different parts of the world gathered at a secret destination on the Mediterranean coast to do sports activities, share impressions, and talk about the present and future of the company, the next steps, the roadmap we have drawn up for the next few years and where we want to go next.

We are sure that 2025 will come loaded with many more projects and new challenges, and we are looking forward to the adventure.
