Overall, it has been an exciting five days full of conferences, live workshops, networking, and meetings with industry leaders. Here are the highlights.

GITEX Global 2024 Recap

The event was attended by more than 6,500 exhibitors and 1,800 emerging companies from more than 180 countries, and this year’s edition focused on the drive for digital transformation and investment in technology.

AI in the Spotlight

Artificial intelligence was at the heart of the meeting, with more than 120 hours of debates and panels exploring the transformative potential of the technology. The need for collaboration to overcome global challenges, as well as its use in security, finance, and health, also came to the fore.

Government commitment

Government initiatives highlighted the UAE’s commitment to fostering innovation and driving economic growth. A key initiative was a speech by Abdullah Bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy, where he discussed the country’s strategic initiatives aimed at improving competitiveness and positioning the country as a global economic leader. In fact, he emphasized the importance of the non-oil sector, which now accounts for 74% of the national GDP, and which they want to make 80% of 20230 in the technological and environmental sector.
