We are closing 2023, and we will remember it as a year full of challenges, projects, awards, recognitions, and new lines of business that have allowed us to continue growing as an innovative, leading, diverse, and inclusive company.
These twelve months have given us much to reflect on, and we didn’t want to miss the opportunity to review some of the most important moments.
Responsible AI Partner of the Year Winners
Once again, this year, Microsoft has chosen its best partners, and Plain Concepts has been the winner in the category of responsible AI, as well as being a finalist in the categories of AI, Data & Analytics, and Best Partner Spain.
The award was the culmination of a year in which we have focused on education and awareness of the ethical aspects and responsible use of artificial intelligence. With the new legislative changes to regulate the use of AI, we have been adapting and further improving our practices, and we are working closely with clients to assess process changes and achieve the best results.
Best data consultancy and service providers
CIOReview, one of the leading technology magazines, has chosen us as one of the “Best Big Data Consulting and Service Providers” in Europe.
One of the reasons was Plain Concepts’ ability to generate a value chain with our client’s data thanks to the help of cloud computing, AI, or Machine Learning. We transform data into useful information, helping them to build a strong data culture and evolve their business.
100 Best Companies to work for in Spain
For the second year in a row, the prestigious newspaper El Mundo has chosen Plain Concepts as one of the best companies for workers, thanks to its working conditions, 35-hour working days, flexibility, and support for social causes.
If you would like to work with us and take advantage of other benefits we offer to our employees (health and dental insurance, discounts on sports activities, etc.), you can check our job offers on LinkedIn.
Partners of the Granada Particle Accelerator
Neuron Dones is the project chosen to generate solutions to improve sustainability and safety at the Particle Accelerator plant operating in Granada, which will use AI for intelligent operations management.
At Plain Concepts, we are immersed in developing a tool to teleoperate a high-precision robotic hand using immersive reality. In addition, we are also engaged in researching and developing tools that perform the evolution control of the work through 3D data analysis, which will compare the scanned models with the theoretical ones.
Brain and the democratization of access to mental health care
At a time when mental health is a major concern in today’s society, access to a psychologist should not be a luxury. To democratize access to it, we have teamed up with Thera4all to create Brain, a solution that represents a unique and immersive experience that ensures the well-being of patients.
A hyper-realistic “metahuman” has been created using algorithms based on psychological assessment models and the latest prompting techniques to ensure ethical and responsible use.
Unique solution for Spot remote control
As part of our commitment to technological innovation and digitalization in the industrial sector, we have launched a pioneering European solution for remote gestural control of Spot through virtual and mixed reality glasses.
This unique solution on the market allows the Boston Dynamics Spot quadruped robot to teleoperate with precision in the most dangerous areas or in infrastructures the operator cannot reach, thus providing speed and avoiding displacements.
We join the International Chambers of Commerce
As an internationalization strategy, this year, the support of joining the Spanish Chambers of Commerce in various countries such as the United Kingdom and the United States has been significant.
It has been a strategy that is helping us to find the best synergies through companies established in the country in which we want to grow, making it easier for us to sign new partnerships and meet potential customers.
New Release Evergine 2023.9
As usual with our Evergine graphics engine, two major releases have been made in 2023. The latest version comes packed with many new features, such as Metal 3 graphics API, iOS support, morphing animation system, network module for XRV, improved Studio performance, and Windows .NET 8 RC1 template, among many others.
Supporting women’s talent
In our commitment to support women in the STEM sector, we reached an agreement with ID Bootcamps. We launched two scholarships for women interested in boosting their Data Science and Machine Learning careers.
This initiative aims to promote female inclusion in the technology sector through this type of methodology, providing opportunities to all those who want to improve their career or take their professional career to a higher level.
Business Insider recognizes us as a technology leader
Business Insider, the media specialized in financial and business news, interviewed Quique Martínez, CEO of Plain Concepts, at the beginning of the year to talk about the company’s current situation during a “crisis” in the sector.
The media highlighted the growth we have had in recent months thanks to a technical approach, the commitment to talent and internationalization, as well as the latest technologies.
Innovation projects
This has been an incredible year in terms of new projects, as we have been awarded several R&D projects with which we are contributing to the development of Industry 4.0 and better energy and cybersecurity services.
Closely related to digital twins, robotics and the digitization of electricity grids are some of the fields in which our teams are working to change tomorrow.
We are sure 2024 will be full of many more projects and new challenges, and we look forward to the adventure. If you don’t want to miss a single detail of what’s happening in the sector, don’t hesitate to subscribe to our newsletter!
